Hello good people! I won’t go into 2020 except to say I didn’t write or release anything. Which leads me to this topic. What type of writer am I? I consider myself a “creative fiction writer” something that in my mind means writing to tell a story that comes from my imagination.
This is the order of who I write for:
1-The characters in my head
2-My self and my need to share my creations
3-Readers who will enjoy what I write and how I write it.
So the characters need to drive me to write and if life is super crazy I don’t typically have enough room in my life to hear their stories. I’m happy that as of March 2021 they seem to be talking loud and clear for the moment which enabled me to finalize my 1st novella.
I’m hoping to finish (and publish) a 40k to 50k drama/fiction book and my last Instant Chemistry Short before the year is out. Before tackling the last book in a trilogy and starting a completely new trilogy in 2022. These are my hopes...but we’ll see what my characters have to say about that plan.
I don’t write to trend or for what other authors share that readers want. I can only give my own creativity that comes from my mind which means you never know (neither do I) what you’re going to get! Some romances may be a slow burn while others are super hot from the start. Some may have low to no drama (going by what “I” think drama is) while others (despite me not liking it) may have high drama content .
I’ve already written some plot points for stuff that is more dramatic and angsty than anything I’d want in my real life, but my characters have said their story has a lot of bumps in the road so I gotta go with that.
I actually love it that each story is unique and authentic to their personalities and situations. Which makes me happy when they are finally complete and I get to share them, so reading can be for someone else, what it was for me. Interesting, entertaining and allowed me to be injected into stories not of my own. I loved all the differences in thought, actions and reactions from the various genres I read. I’m an immersive reader, so I go along for the ride of the story instead of trying to drive it with “I would do XYZ ” mentality. To me, it’s all part of the thrill!
And last I write so that someone who the stories (any particular story) resonates with them, entertains them, makes them think, makes them feel as the characters go through their tribulations...that’s who I’m writing for. I always hope that the right story of mine finds the right reader for that story.
For those who have read and enjoyed even one of my stories as always thank you and I’m happy you found some joy or entertainment from it.
I’ll continue to write, sometimes slowly, sometimes quicker than (I) thought possible to continue to put my passion and my creativity into the world for others to enjoy.
Take care and be safe!
